Bay Leaf Oil is a natural and pure oil, which is well known for its excellent skin toner property. It is a deep yellow to brown colored oil having green aroma of woods and little minty or clove fragrance. The oil blends well with lavender, eucalyptus, rosemary, geranium, thyme, orange oils, cedar wood, coriander, lemon, rose, ginger, juniper and ylang ylang. Extraction And Composition
This oil is extracted from the steam distillation of the parts of Bay Tree, which is basically found in South Africa, Morocco and Spain. The fresh leaves of more than 5 years old trees are collected and steam distilled. Salted water also aids in this process. The distillation process of leaves help in extracting a unique essence from the plant. Around 0.5 to 1.5 percent of oil is extracted through this process. Further, this oil consists of Mtrcene, Alpha Terpineol, Alpha Pinene, Eugenol, Limonene, Beta Pinene, Linalool, Methyl Chavicol and Neral, Methyl Eugenol and Chavicol.
